Wheeler is playing? thought he was out after taking the shot to the throat

And im pretty sure pavelec is their #1 even though mason is getting back to back starts

Hopefully we can get some offense going, and good to see josefson back

It's a minor groin strain. He's being held off as a precaution. DeBoer even said if it were a playoff game, he would be playing.

I read an article from the Bleacher Report stating that the Devils financial problems are worse than expected (at least to me) than previously stated. The article talked about a league take over by mid-february if Vanderbeek cant find a miracle or $80 million is his pocket to pay back a loan. This could be disastrous to our team's future and in the short term the chances of locking up Zach Parise or stocking up for a playoff run. In my mind Zach sells tickets and will help make a playoff push that in turn creates revenue, which we so desperately need. I hope we lock up Zach, but I doubt anymore help is coming in the near future if its not from our own system. Any thoughts or additional information guys?

Don't need to read any further than that.

Bleacherreport is fun for the articles, but their news guys have no clue what they are saying and have no sources whatsoever.

The devils are a privately held company, so no one that isnt in the company will really know exactly what is going on. They may have already paid back the loans for all we know. Anyone who states otherwise either has some very good insides, or is making up a story, they can see a few things but in reality they wont have enough info to really say this or that is going to happen.

And the NHL has already said that the devils are not in trouble.

also Brodeur has stated he wants to play another year, which I'm fine with if he takes a pay cut and shares the work load with a free agent signing like Harding or Elliott. I think we owe it to him to play at least one more season.

HE owes it to US to play BETTER this season AND next season, if he so chooses.
With that said, bring in Harding for 3 years. 1 year under Brodeur, 2 years with one of our prospects.

......SI on hockey is iffy to me to.

Honestly, I don't trust anything except Bob McKenzie, Darren Dreger, and Forbes. Forbes reported the bankruptcy situation, but I honestly don't know how bad it is getting or looks.

but then again forbes based their article and credited everything to the NY post

Either way, I'm still worried. The old saying "where there's smoke, There's fire"

I hope that's not the case here.

i dont think any of our prospects will be ready after next season, kinkaid maybe

you can only play to your abilities, and with age they have dropped, its not like he intentionally gives up goals

what do you expect from a goalie in the twilight of their career? *hasek is an abnormality

brodeur is doing much better than roloson even though marty has play ALOT more than roloson

he absolutely owes us nothing. We owe it to him to not be so critical just cause he is not playing at the freakish form we were so use to for all those years. He's old and is slowing down but he is still a quality starter in this league. Sure he lets in softies always has though it may be more frequently now then it once was. But he also makes 2 or 3 saves at least a game that should be goals.
